Daytime sleep helps kids remember new words

So why do kids need NAPs? Scientists have discovered that children are better at remembering words after a rest period of 90 minutes.

Young parents whose children have already begun learning words, should allow them to sleep during the day more. Daytime sleep lasting 90 minutes help kids remember the words better, the study showed. The authors observed 24 children with an average age of two years. They taught them how to pronounce some of the words that resonate with real. The babies slept in the afternoon after teaching these words, remembered them much better after 4 hours, as shown by the observations of scientists from the University of Arizona.
