What the studies say

In a study with the US National Library of Medicine National Institute of Health, ginseng and how it could improve fatigue, in particular cancer-related fatigue, was analysed.

The trial involved cancer survivors with one group given American ginseng and the other group receiving a placebo were investigated in a period of eight weeks.

The study noted that data supported the positive effects of ginseng on fatigue.

The four week study gave one or two grams of Panax ginseng or a placebo was given to 90 people suffering from chronic fatigue.

Ginseng’s other benefits include a reduced risk of cancer, heart disease, erectile dysfunction, high blood pressure and menopausal symptoms.
